Henry and Enid Nelless, the third generation of working farmers who for over 100
years have tended the land and reared their livestock. Thistleyhaugh working
farm dates back to 1780 and retains much of the charm and many of the historic
features found in a traditional Georgian farmhouse. These characteristics are
combined with a wide range of modern amenities and thoughtful home comforts that
make Thistleyhaugh such a special place to stay.
With five well-appointed guestrooms, Thistleyhaugh is the ideal place for a

or a longer more leisurely holiday. Each room has en-suite bathroom facilities,
a colour television, trouser press, small refrigerator and tea and coffee making
facilities. All rooms are furnished to the highest standards. Bedding is made
from the best linen or cotton, with the added option of either duvet or
blankets. As well as a hearty Northumbrian breakfast, a four course evening meal
with wine is available as an optional extra. All fare is produced locally and is
of the highest quality. The locality can offer a number of activities, such as
walking, bird watching, mountain bike riding, shooting fishing, golf and riding.
