ARCHIVED TRIAL RESULTS

JANUARY 2004

13th January 2004    Sheep Dog Results.

Last weekend Tom Lawrenson enjoyed two nursery wins with his homebred bitch Floss.  On Saturday at the Holme Society trial they topped an entry of 32 dogs judged by Robert Tarbatt of Darwen.  Working Blackface ewes over an undulating downhill course their score of 81 gave them a single point advantage over Jim Cropper and Shep, who took second place.

On Sunday they travelled into East Yorkshire to compete at the Ryedale nursery held at Newsholme.  Ian Salter of Trawden judged the 32 entries as they worked Mule gimmer hoggs over a flat course.  With the first run after lunch Tom and Floss earned the highest score of the day, which gave the black and white bitch her fifth win in her first season.  Tom was also placed second with Spot, Floss’ full litter brother.  Born in February 2002, Floss and Spot are out of their master’s Tillymauld Nell and sired by Derek Scrimgeour’s Ben.
